Tweeting, Acceptance, Modern Culture,… training wheels

Glance, Check out, View,…. retweeted, reposts,…. then trending….globally. The words we pen desire in the utmost depths of all our hearts are that they are read, appreciated, and shared by others. To be “re” anything means the limited message( 140 characters in a tweet, 420 for facebook posting, and for WordPress the is no limitation to the amount of words) brings us a bit of swagger and fulfillment. “The greatest form of flattery is,….. well it used to be imitation, it seems today that flattery seems to come in the form of a repost, forward, and the ultimate is to be Trending World-wide.
Modern Culture has its way of swaying us in directions we never thought we would be going, but that’s what culture does,.. it moves things. It changes in us the potentials and realigns dreams. It controls our ways of thinking, but mostly it re-evaluates what is valuable, desired, wanted, and even prioritized. Everyone of us gets a little giddy when someone “re”‘s our penned thoughts, this is our reward, isn’t it? It puts a little swagger in our step, and makes us want for more. There is a certain addiction that comes from being recogninzed for our work. For centuries it took an author weeks, months and even years to see the response to their writings,.. but today, it takes a moment. After I am finished with this blogging session I will click “Publish”, and off it will go. Around the world in a mili-second. Then it will be read, considered, and perhaps,…. reposted, retweeted, commented on, and for some emailed to their “contact list”…Contacts,.. that’s our goal. People on a friends list, someone who “Likes” your group, someone who “Follows” you. We are trying to communicate all sorts of things- like that the burrito you had for lunch smelt like a dirty wash rag,.. or how rude the waiter was at TGIF’s,.. or perhaps its a pic of an awesome sunset( even if the smog did enhance its aray of colors). We communicate certain, albeit, often on the fly, things that strike us funny or interesting. Never is “dull” used as the headline unless its the professor/teacher in the 2:30pm class who has a hairdo that looks like the nest of a red-bellied loon….. ooops… I though I was posting a FB post. Anyway we are headed in a direction, perhaps a little wobbly. I remember when my son first took flight on his little red bike the day the training wheels came off. From wobbly to sure,… not him, his mom’s knees when he was just getting the hang of it. But that’s what we are doing,.. getting the hang of it. By the time I finish this, what was the top trend has slipped down to five or six… trending one second and forgotted the next… the only thing we can look forward to,… what’s next.
