Upwards

The purpose of Jesus coming to Earth was to ” seek and save the lost”. Also He came to “give life everlasting”.

He became human so we could be lead by Him directly.

He came down to gather us together with Him.

He came down, so we could go up.

We see this design in nature every day. We have the morning dew that falls on the ground, waters the grass, and the grass grows,… upwards.

We have a wonderful rainfall that saturated the ground and gives life to every plant. That same rainwater is collected in puddles, ponds, and lakes for animals to drink and give them life.

That same water, dew, rain,… if not consumed is returned back to the sky when the Sun comes up. The moisture is collected in clouds, and when the conditions are right, the rain will fall once again, and the process repeats itself.

This repetitious activity goes on without us paying attention. Wet grass is not given much attention. Clouds flying overhead are often just given a glance. We don’t pay much attention until we face a drought and begin to consider the source of our water. The sky.

How about a waterfall. I love them. The water tips over from a higher source and cascades onto rocks and finally into a pool. The splash into the pool erupts and popes into the nearby rocks that have trees rooted into them giving them oxygen and moisture,..constantly. Those trees grow with great majesty upwards, reaching for the Sun. Their limbs stretch out as if they were just asking up. The lush, green leaves smiling and dancing in every breeze that comes by. Those lushly watered roots and happily dancing leaves are expressing joy because they are healthy.

Jeremiah 17:8- They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
